Assistant Professor
Dr. Julia Jarosławska-Miszkiewicz is a graduate of the University of Gdańsk in the field of molecular biology. During her master’s studies, she investigated the genetic variability of clinical isolates of methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus strains using molecular genotyping techniques. During her doctoral studies at the Department of Biological Functions of Food IAR&FR of PAS in Olsztyn, she conducted research on the nutritional and health-promoting properties of blackcurrant and strawberry pomace as a source of dietary fiber and polyphenols in animal models of metabolic diseases.
She was a Postdoctoral fellow in the Welcome 1 Project from the Foundation for Polish Science ”Nutrition and ambient temperature in the early period of development can reduce susceptibility to obesity”, in which her research focused on the mechanisms of the central nervous system that regulate body’s energy metabolism. She completed internships at the Department of Epigenetics and Obesity, Pennington Biomedical Research Center, Baton Rouge, USA and at the Department of Physiology, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.
