Workshops on Leadership in Science

Another meeting of the Raising Academy Managers program is behind us — an initiative aimed at developing leadership and project management skills among young researchers. This time, participants took part in a workshop led by Patrycja Radek, an innovation broker from SWPS University.

This was already the third meeting dedicated to the role of leadership in scientific projects, which highlights how important and complex effective communication and collaboration are in the academic environment. –What I focus on is equipping participants with practical tools they can immediately apply in their everyday work – said the facilitator. – I truly believe these are the future leaders of research projects.

The workshop had a strong practical focus — participants worked on various aspects of team-building, collaboration, and communication, learning how to create an inspiring vision and effectively bring others into it: team members, partners, and organizations.

Leadership is something we can and must learn. It’s not just a talent — it’s also a set of specific skills that can be developed – emphasized Patrycja Radek. – It’s a great responsibility — working with people, influencing their careers, supporting their growth.

The group also tackled difficult but essential topics such as failure in research projects.
It’s absolutely inevitable — the question is, what do we do with those failures? How do we prepare the team for them? How do we respond, provide support, and draw lessons from them? – said Radek. – Failures build our successes. They are often our greatest teachers.

The next workshop in the Raising Academy Managers program will take place in May!
