New Food Forum

Prof. Carsten Carlberg will be one of the guest speakers at the upcoming New Food Forum to be held at the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw on May 25th.

In his speech, Prof Carlberg will focus on the beneficial epigenetic effects of plant-based micronutrients:

Food is one of the most important elements modulating the human epigenome. Many plant-based micronutrients, such as resveratrol and curcumin, affect signal transduction pathways that control the opening and closing of our genes, and when regularly supplied to the body may be beneficial against the onset of aging-related diseases, such as diabetes, atherosclerosis and cancer. Interestingly, the example of the micronutrient vitamin D indicated that individuals differ in their sensitivity to epigenetic modulators, i.e., personalized supplementation is recommended.

The New Food Forum is a industry-oriented event that aims to accelerate and empower plant-based and innovative food technologies by bringing together key stakeholders. It is a meeting and discussion place for experts and successful brands, retail chains, food producers and the HoReCa market. The Forum is expecting over 150 participants from 67 different companies and organizations. The main organizer is ProVeg Polska. Strategic partners include the Embassy of the Netherlands in Poland and EIT Food.
