International scientific seminar with Kieran Tuohy, Professor of Energy Metabolism and the Microbiome at the University of Leeds (UK), specialist in nutrition, gut microbiology and the interaction between diet and the microbiome.

In the latest research of Prof. Carsten Carlberg and his Nutrigenomics Team we learn about potential molecular mechanisms linking vitamin D levels to the expression of genes involved in aging processes. A special attention was given to individual genetic variations affecting vitamin D metabolism and the potential for personalized supplementation based on genetic profiles.

The second meeting in the series of open international seminars, part of the Welcoming ERA Chair to Centre of Excellence in Nutrigenomics to optimise health and well-being project, hosted Professor Karl-Heinz Herzig, a specialist in internal medicine, gastroenterology and physiology and lecturer at the Medical School of Oulu University in Finland.
