PROFESSOR KIERAN TUOHY | DIET – MICROBE INTERACTIONS IN THE GUT: REDUCING THE RISK OF METABOLIC DISEASE

On Friday 22 March, the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences hosted another international scientific seminar as part of the WELCOME2 ERA Chair project. The guest speaker was Kieran Tuohy, Professor of Energy Metabolism and the Microbiome at the University of Leeds (UK), specialist in nutrition, gut microbiology and the interaction between diet and the microbiome.

The seminar was open and attended by experienced researchers, research team leaders and PhD students from the region of Olsztyn. The meeting was an opportunity to exchange experiences and a chance to explore areas for future international collaboration, especially as the topic of the microbiota, the brain-gut axis and the connection between the gut microbiota and human health is of increasing interest in the field of life sciences.
